Resources for Refugees

The materials here are designed to help you as you adjust to your new life in the United States. The Welcome set contains information about the resettlement process and your first days in the United States: services you will receive, responsibilities you will take on, challenges and opportunities you may encounter, and so on.

The video packages show interviews with refugees from different ethnic or age groups, as well as questions for you to consider as you watch. You may find stories like your own, with similar successes and challenges. You may also find stories of successes and challenges you may experience later in your resettlement. We hope that you find these stories and reflection questions helpful as you think about what life in the United States can mean for you and your family.

The refugee phrasebooks were developed in the 1980s and 1990s, so they do not include many of the languages of more recently-arriving refugees. Nevertheless, these phrasebooks may still be helpful to some refugees, whether newly arriving or long resettled.
